FAQ

FAQ

How is Smudge different from other art studios?

At Smudge, we do things a little differently — and joyfully so! Our classes are grounded in process art, which means we focus on the making, not the final masterpiece. Kids are free to experiment, take creative risks, and follow their own ideas — there’s no pressure to “stay inside the lines” or replicate a perfect sample. We believe art should feel playful, meaningful, and full of discovery. That’s where the real magic (and learning!) happens.

Do I need any art experience?

Not at all. These nights are about trying something new, playing with materials, and enjoying the process — no pressure, no perfection.

What’s included in the ticket price?

Your ticket includes all materials and tools, a welcome glass of bubbles, and a delicious grazing platter.

Can I come on my own?

Absolutely. Lots of people do — and the studio is a welcoming, relaxed space to meet others and enjoy some creative time just for you.

Can I book a private group session?

Yes! We’d love to host your crew for a birthday, hens, or team session. Get in touch and we can plan something bespoke.

What's the best way to get to Smudge?

We’re in Surrey Hills, so only a 5-minute walk from Union Station for anyone catching the train. Or there’s free street parking nearby.
