Loosen up and paint the night away with bold colour and expressive brushstrokes inspired by Henri Matisse. We’ll explore rhythm, movement and balance as you create your own abstract artwork, then finish the evening decorating a sculptural paper vase to take home.

At Smudge, we do things a little differently — and joyfully so! Our classes are grounded in process art, which means we focus on the making, not the final masterpiece. Kids are free to experiment, take creative risks, and follow their own ideas — there’s no pressure to “stay inside the lines” or replicate a perfect sample. We believe art should feel playful, meaningful, and full of discovery. That’s where the real magic (and learning!) happens.
Do I need any art experience?
Not at all. These nights are about trying something new, playing with materials, and enjoying the process — no pressure, no perfection.
What’s included in the ticket price?
Your ticket includes all materials and tools, a welcome glass of bubbles, and a delicious grazing platter.
Can I come on my own?
Absolutely. Lots of people do — and the studio is a welcoming, relaxed space to meet others and enjoy some creative time just for you.
