Who We Are
This policy applies to Smudge Artspace Pty Ltd, a children's art studio in Surrey Hills, Victoria. It covers our website at smudgeartspace.com, our mobile app, our online Smudge Hub and Studio Blueprint platforms, and the bookings we take in the studio. Information We Collect
When you book a class, event, or party with Smudge Artspace, we may collect the following personal information: parent or guardian name, email address, phone number, child's name, child's date of birth, medical or allergy information, and billing details. We may also collect information when you subscribe to our newsletter, contact us via our website, email, or social media, or interact with our online platforms.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Process bookings and payments
- Communicate with you about your bookings, including confirmations, reminders, and updates
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of children during classes and events
- Send marketing communications (only with your consent)
- Improve our services, programs, and website
- Comply with legal obligations and protect our rights
Consent
By providing your personal information to Smudge Artspace, you consent to its collection, use, and disclosure as described in this policy. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us. Withdrawal of consent may affect our ability to provide certain services.

Personal data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption and access controls. Only authorised staff have access to personal information, and only as required to perform their duties.
Third-Party Service Providers
We share information with the service providers that run our bookings, payments and communications. Each of them is bound to protect your information and to use it only for the purposes we specify. They are:
- Stripe for payment processing. Card details go straight to Stripe and are never stored on our systems.
- Supabase for our bookings database, hosted in Sydney, Australia.
- Clerk for account sign-in on the Smudge Hub, Studio Blueprint and our app.
- Resend for sending booking confirmations and email newsletters.
- Vercel for hosting our website and app, with servers in Sydney, Australia.
Some of these providers store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States. We only use providers who apply recognised security and privacy standards.
Marketing Communications
We may send you marketing emails about upcoming classes, events, promotions, and news from Smudge Artspace. You can unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email or contacting us directly.
Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law. When information is no longer needed, it is securely deleted or de-identified.
Children's Data
We collect children's personal information (name, date of birth, medical/allergy details) solely for the purpose of providing a safe and appropriate experience during classes and events. This information is provided by parents or guardians and is handled with the highest level of care. We do not sell children's information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Your Rights
Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), you have the right to access and correct your personal information, request deletion of your data, opt out of marketing communications, and lodge a complaint about our handling of your information. Cookies & Website Analytics
Our website uses cookies and analytics tools to keep you signed in, remember your booking as you move through checkout, and understand how visitors use our site. You can control cookie settings through your browser preferences, though switching them off may stop bookings and sign-in from working.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with the updated effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
Compliance
This policy follows the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). If you believe we have breached the APPs, please contact us first so we can put it right. You may also lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au.
