What we make together

A real morning of art, not a craft activity.

Smudge has been running classes for kids in Melbourne for three years. Excursions are the same thing, packaged for your class: students arrive, settle, and spend an hour-and-a-half with their hands in real materials. Paint, clay, charcoal, collage, sensory trays, depending on the age group.

We don't do step-by-step "everyone-make-the-same-thing" projects. Every student leaves with their own piece of work and a story about how they made it. Teachers tell us it's the quietest the bus ride home has ever been.

Art Play Lab for kinder groups.

Sensory-rich and play-based. Built for little hands and short attention spans, with stations the group can move between at their own pace. Lots of mark-making, lots of mess, plenty of room to just watch.

Primary, Prep to Year 6

Hands-on, with room to push the work.

Students explore new materials and techniques in our light-filled studio. We can shape the session around your classroom theme (mini-beasts, the Dreaming, colour theory, sustainability) or run our own brief.
